The Health Science Technology course is an introduction to the world of health sciences.
Based on the Health Science National Standards, this course is designed for secondary students with an interest in pursuing a health science career. It will introduce them to various health science occupations, as well as teach the soft and technical skills that are required to work in the healthcare field. The course will focus on the requirements needed by healthcare workers to effectively work in a variety of settings with a diverse population of clients. Students will explore workplace skills such as accountability and responsibility, standards of dress, workplace behavior, approaches to assisting clients, and expectations of teams and team members.
